LeMieux Brilliance Vector Balance Stirrups are technically advanced, lightweight stirrups designed for riders who value both performance and a classic aesthetic. These stirrups feature Swarovski crystal details and are machined from aviation-grade aluminium, offering an impressive strength-to-weight ratio for stability without unnecessary bulk.
Features
- Ergonomic Footplate: Set at a 5° angle with a cross-track grip surface and embedded hardened steel pins to promote lower leg stability and help keep heels down.
- Twin-Balance Arch System: Distributes weight evenly across the base of the stirrup frame for improved balance.
- Offset Apex: The frame is recessed and offset to encourage a 45° outward orientation, making it easier to locate the optimum foot angle or regain a lost stirrup.
- Integrated Hinged Arm: Features a two-stage release system with a 36N (3.62kg) breakout force, designed to release the foot in the event of a fall while preventing unintentional opening.
These stirrups are precision-machined from aviation-grade aluminium. This material choice provides exceptional strength while remaining lighter than most standard stirrups at just 419g each.
Safety and Compatibility
The hinged arm is designed to spread weight evenly under pressure, such as landing over a fence, to prevent the stirrup from flexing. While these stirrups are designed to release under lateral force, it is important to note that no quick-release stirrup is 100% guaranteed to open in every fall scenario. Always ensure a minimum of 10mm (approximately 3/8") gap between the stirrup and the widest part of your boot on each side. These stirrups are competition legal for FEI, British Dressage, British Eventing, and British Showjumping.
Colours Available
Available in Aluminium, Black and Rose Gold.
RB Equestrian’s Opinion
The LeMieux Brilliance Vector Balance Stirrups are an excellent choice for riders looking to combine technical safety features with a touch of elegance. The 5° angled footplate is particularly helpful for riders who struggle to maintain a stable lower leg position. They offer a sophisticated look for the competition arena while providing the practical, weight-distributing benefits that modern riders demand.
