Making a Strawmax Bed
There are two ways to make your Strawmax bed.
In the first method, the bags are laid over the stable floor and sliced open, then watered generously and left for around an hour to allow the pellets to absorb the water, before tipping the contents onto the floor and fluffing and spreading evenly.
In the second method, each bag is emptied directly onto the clean stable floor, watered generously with a hose pipe and left for around an hour to allow the pellets to absorb the water, before fluffing and spreading evenly.
Maintaining a Strawmax Bed
Droppings should be removed daily using a close tined fork, with very wet patches taken out as required, and the bed topped up as necessary to maintain the optimum depth, which is usually around 1 to 2 pre watered bags per week.
Muck out daily and add 1 to 2 bags as needed each week, and periodically remove all bedding completely and sanitise the stable to maintain good hygiene.
